Sultry synthwave with some massive melodies – North Ireland producer Transpacifica presents a new 5-track EP conceptualized around a fictional utopian commune in the not-so-distant future. Retro riffs grab your attention and blasting 80’s drums keep you pinned down for the duration! And ohh my, those riffs, they are both beautiful and bountiful – leaving tons of sonic tidbits lodged in my head. Highly recommended if you dig downtempo synthesizer jams and cinematic synthwave!

Ultra Extra, by Shamane
Shamane back y’all! A proclamation stated on the releases bandcamp page – ultra extra is the latest full length project from prolific techno-weirdo Pop Culture Shamane! Lush with psychedelic electronic exploration and noodling, it is easy to get lost in this project. Dense textures wash over innocent melodies, all being propelled forward by deconstructed club grooves. It’s truly a satisfying listen from start-to-finish. The album has just been released via Ingrown Records, if you download via bandcamp you will receive a 27-page booklet of shamane rhymes “i can eat my slang” which is equally as twisted-brilliant. If you aren’t familiar with the work of Shamane NOW IS THE TIME!!

Battle in Nagoya, by Lips and Ribs
Equal parts chiptune madness and funky footwork, Battle in Nagoya is a new cassette tape released through Field Hymns Records by Lips and Ribs. Featuring some truly dense and determined tracks, 16 to be exact, this album drags the listener on a strange and mystical journey. Think – soundtrack to an acid soaked JRPG, with tracks often featuring massively oversaturated percussion and in-your-face synthesizers which are often as cheesy as they are amazing.
The album isn’t for the faint of heart, each track has a unique sense of urgency, resulting in quite a hectic listen. I encourage you to dive right in though, once you succumb to the vibe of the project it really is an amazing project to enjoy from start to finish.

Molinos, by Lisergishnu
Molinos is the newest album from Chilean Beat Producer Lisergishnu (see w/ ATSU), and boy is it a banger!
Inspired by his home city of Villa Alemana, the project is packed with different genres and styles stretched out over the 8 tracks, ranging from chillhop to hectic footwork. Regardless the genre, the beats are dense and interesting, with layers of lush synths and rhythmically interesting percussion. You can download the album via Elemental 97!

This Is Reverbnetics, by バーチャルボーイA T S U and Lisergishnu
Adhesive Sounds presents another marvelous project in This Is Reverbtronics, by バーチャルボーイA T S U and Lisergishnu. Lingering somewhere between Vaporwave and Synthwave, Reverbtronics does a splendid job of building an environment using a sonic toolkit. Dystopian and desolate, yet sprinkled with endearing hope.
Everyday, computers around us leave waves of resonance in our
lives. The binary echoes in our minds, from which our affection
to connectivity cannot be hidden.Plastic cases hold the intrinsic desires of progress, plastered in
electrical traffic encoding our souls. Hidden pagodas which
manage our information highways beneath the soil.Loneliness can be just an option for those immersed in this clash
of magnetic dissonance illuminating our world. Those within the reverbnetics.
