Fresh things from Dream Museum Records – it’s the self-titled EP from CTRL 94 (Kayla Smith). A 7-track project that drifts around ambient vaporwave and synthwave styles, with a heavy lean towards a luscious feeling of nostalgia. Loads of playful synthesizers and hearty drum machine grooves keep the listeners attention throughout the project. There’s a very strong sense of melody on a lot of these tracks, lending to the feeling of nostalgia even more especially in the middle few tracks, which sound distinctly like some b-sides off a mid-80’s producers power pop demos in the absolute best way possible. Funky flavors of reminiscent of The Time and other prince protégés, memorable riffs sticking in your head throughout the day, beckoning for you to return. Download the digital or pick up a Cassette while they’re still available!
Gould ’72 is the newish/alternate project from established beatsmith All These Fingers seeing the producer take a more direct approach to songwriting, foregoing the tried-and-true methods of sample smashing and chopping. HOMEVIDEO showcases some serious chillwave styles that at times boarder on post-vaporwave. LORIMAR DEVELOPMENT HELL has to be my favorite track simply because of the synth tones used, it could have been a long-lost track to some video games OST, the backdrop to a mystical water level! If you aren’t familiar with ATF beats, Gould ’72 is a great place to start… And c’mon, theres an ALAN PARSONS PROJECT COVER!!!
Hey gang! I am back in action and feeling better than ever! I have been discovering so much wonderful music lately I simply cannot hold back from telling the world!
One thing in particular that has sparked a lot of energy has been exploring the CHOON platform – its vibe has taken me back to the old SoundCloud days, and I have simply adored lurking around the website for quality music. So to help usher back in this sonic exploration, head over to my Choon page (currently operating under my OHSAURUS moniker) and give a listen to Mellow Choons Vol.1 !
I will be posting more frequently – sounds from the underground as always – from the depths of bandcamp, soundcloud, and anywhere else I can find aural experiments! As always feel free to send your submissions my way – twitter tends to be the quickest way to reach me, however the good ‘ol submission form always works too! Anyways please enjoy, see you on the other side….
So Divine! is a new vaporwave album by producer Skyline Divine, released April 9th by Adhesive Sounds. The project is light-hearted and drenched in sunny California-Retro vibes. Loosely a concept album built around an awkward teens first love experience, it’s easy to close your eyes and imagine these tracks playing out as the soundtrack to this heartwarming story.
A lonely teen is thrown into an expensive, neon pink covered world they call San Fernando Valley. It didn’t matter how much time she spent on her hair and make-up, she couldn’t find love… until today. She finally feels like she’s ‘all that… and a bag of chips!’ She couldn’t believe it! The hottest guy in the Valley noticed her and invited her to his private yacht party!
The Album is available to download via Adhesive Sounds bandcamp at the price of your choice.
Londons Dream Catalogue is responsible for yet another vaporwave masterpiece. This lengthy project from Vaperror is drenched in nostalgia and retro vibes. While this is a fairly traditional take on vaporwave, this is an incredibly listenable album, often times finding footing in addictive groves and melody structures. There is plenty of variety in the tracks as well, everything from future funk to plunderphonic noise-mash. The album is available to download at your chosen price, as well as a limited edition cassette tape for purchase!

As I am sure many of you know by now, I am a big fan of Ghost Diamonds “Diamond Series”, a collection of mini-releases, each consisting of two tracks by different artists. This formula is quick, refreshing, and they always manage to bring some interesting sounds to the table. This round is no different! Diamond Series 006 is soaked in retro nostalgia, with the second track diving head first into a 50’s Righteous Brothers cover. This was a pleasure to listen to quite a few times, I encourage you to give it a run and check out the rest of the Diamond Series while you’re at it!

Bizarre yet satisfying hybrid of vaporwave using country tunes. Some sort of booze soaked melancholy vibe is produced… interesting and unique! Brought to us by Commercial Dreams LTD.
Here is some beautiful new vaporwave brought to us by Italy’s Midnight Side. Nearly 30 tracks to help usher in those steamy summer nights.
Here is some dank and twisted vapor goodness. You guys know I love my coffee, so this one really spoke to me ;D
