I recently stumbled upon this release while poking through strange sounds on Soundcloud. Upon discovering I was immediately taken by the unique and bold style presented on this record. Polish producer Novie creates incredibly unique compositions – a distinct take on experimental modern-classical – utilizing a huge palette of sounds and textures. Several occasions I was reminded of a much mellower BYZ, which was some of my favorite avant-experimental sounds of last year.

The 4-tracks are now available via Bandcamp for Free Download! I highly recommend this one to mix up your listening routine, inject some weird concepts and satisfying sounds into your day and click play!!

Vivarium Recordings has been a powerhouse these past few months – churning out interesting electronics and vaporsounds from inspired artists – and this one is no exception. FRESH GHOST is a full-length experimental beat album by SELVEDGE that dropped towards the end of August. The 12 tracks boast a massive vibe of analog textures and pure energy. Buzzing bass and hissing synths pierce through the mundane blur of normal life – as you fall into a ghostly netherworld occupied by glitching spirits and noisy beasts!

New dub-techno sounds from Lithuanian label Cold Tear Records , home to some favorites like Vytis, Joergmueller, Slownoise and Heavenchord, we have a nice and mellow 4-track EP collaborative effort from Thomas Carmody & Altone – Cornflower and Camelia. It’s a tight and pleasant collection of tracks with lots of atmospheric play and subtle sound evolution. Hearty in length, the producers don’t rush the movement – building around slow and steady changes. Repeat listens will only leave you more satisfied than before.

Deliciously lush and atmospheric new noise from Brazilian artist Nacional Erudita, brought to us by Infinite Sync Studios.

This Side A/Side B of sorts is warm and inviting. Tape sounds being utilized heavily to the point I felt as if I were in a duplication or processing facility – and I loved it. The therapeutic nature of the fuzzy analogue drones does well to build an atmosphere in less than 20 minutes of sonic storytelling. Ominous howls and scraping percussion dominate the first track, like some strange ceremony being dragged-along a few rooms down the hall. Track two is pure dense tape magic, packed with complex and satisfying subtleties.

Gould ’72 is the newish/alternate project from established beatsmith All These Fingers seeing the producer take a more direct approach to songwriting, foregoing the tried-and-true methods of sample smashing and chopping. HOMEVIDEO showcases some serious chillwave styles that at times boarder on post-vaporwave. LORIMAR DEVELOPMENT HELL has to be my favorite track simply because of the synth tones used, it could have been a long-lost track to some video games OST, the backdrop to a mystical water level! If you aren’t familiar with ATF beats, Gould ’72 is a great place to start… And c’mon, theres an ALAN PARSONS PROJECT COVER!!!

ＨＩＧＨＥＲ ＭＩＮＤ ＴＨＯＵＧＨＴ ＩＭＰＬＡＮＴＡＴＩＯＮ is the latest release from ASVMR, brought to us by Berlin’s Engram Recordings – a thick 3-track exploration into psychedelic harsh fuzz territory.

Taking complete advantage of the labels eclectic and esoteric nature, ASVMR dives deep into the pool of sound for some sonic clam digging. Leading in with pulsing atmospheric percussion, only to be drenched with some seriously potent drone shredding. It’s actually quite an accessible harsh-noise EP – if you are new to the genre and just want to get your toes wet, this could be a fantastic place to start. Click play and embrace the meta-narrative!!
