Acid Pasta EP was originally released February 21st, 2010, with some tracks being produced much earlier than that, however the project has aged quite well. Kontexts twisted vision of techno is robust on these 4 tracks, utilizing alien sounds and truly unique production on top of classic grooves.
‘Acid Pasta EP is not a brand new piece of work. It’s a best part of personal skill improvement I worked on at home studio in years 2005-2006. Climate Change, by Mykja
What better way to start both the Day and Week than with some truly satisfying deep tunage.
Etoka Records brings us this latest project from producer duo Mykja titled “Climate Change”. The album contains 7 tracks of focused dub-techno with a nice atmospheric quality (pun-intended). Mykja does a wonderful job mashing together distinct synths with percussion that is both relaxed yet filled with a sense of urgency.
The title is no happy accident either, as the duo describes – ‘Climate Change’ is formed to describe the relationship between man and nature, our impact on the environment that causes global change effect.

Locked Grooves, by 400PPM
Fresh from Berlin’s Avian Label is this collection of hypnotic tracks by 400PPM. Locked Grooves is a collection of experimental techno loops constructed by Shawn O’Sullivan. The release itself is 10 tracks of raw, relentless electronics, with satisfying jagged edges. I would even dare to call this a Punk interpretation of techno, with the often distorted tones buzzing from track to track, as well as the startlingly short track lengths (most tracks barely breach the 2-minute mark!).
All in all, its a breath of fresh air in the oft-over-produced techno scene. You can scoop the digital album for free now via Avians Bandcamp.
Man Vs. Sofa, by Sherwood & Pinch
Man Vs. Sofa is the latest collaborative project between two UK producers Sherwood & Pinch. The album is a fantastic mix of energetic techno, tasteful dubstep and all things inbetween! The duo creates incredibly satisfying tracks, flawlessly meshing their two styles into something both unique and enjoyable. Buzzing bass, throbbing kicks and splendid sample-work all make this album a must listen!
Periferica (NP), by Tears Of Change
Fresh from rohs! Records out of Germany (though, not fresh to the universe), originally released in 2015, Periferica is an experimental techno album by Tears Of Change.
Periferica is a deep, churning project with a brutal yet mellow urgency. The sound is a unique juxtaposition of throbbing kicks and buzzing bass, combined with some haunting atmospheres. What results is a satisfying blend of energetic acid and high-quality textured ambience. Some of my favorite parts of this project were the most dissonant, where the sounds seemed to be combating each-other within the track!

Deepchord 01-06
DEEPCHORD presents us with a collection of tunes from days of old. Anyone who has read this blog for long knows I am a huge fan of deepchord and the days of Thinner Netlabel and the neverending plethora of Dub Techno that was being created at the time.
This wonderful little release gathers tracks produced by Mike Schommer & Rod Modell (collectively DEEPCHORD) between the years of 1997-1999. Striped-down and raw, each of the tracks is an impressive look into the duos early works. Ever present are the staples of their sound, muddled percussion and gorgeous melodic chordal progressions. The album is for sale via Bandcamp.
Melodyheart, by Xspance
Melodyheart by Xspance is a collection of soaring and majestic beats, brought to us by Section Records. The 12 tracks meander through chillout vibes and downtempo rhythms at a relaxing pace, utilizing galactic soundscapes as a backdrop to the whole show. As the title suggests, there is a good deal of emotion in each of the tracks, with beautiful synths hinting towards hope and melancholy. The album is available to download digitally via the labels Bandcamp page.
‘Melodyheart’ is the latest engaging sensory experience from the musical mind of Xspance, whose journey-esque structures and evolving arrangements lend a very visual, filmic element to his music, as each track becomes a scene in a play, slowly revealing a bigger picture. ‘Melodyheart’ is a perfect collection of chilled ambient tracks, each designed to melt into each other. Indigo / Expanse, by 36
I am a long-time fan of UK Ambient Producer 36, I am also a huge fan of melodic ambient, soft techno and anything in between. Therefore, 36’s latest release INDIGO/EXPANSE is absolutely perfect for me. As the artist mentions below in his blurb, the two tracks contained are a bit more uptempo than the rest of his discography, however I feel like it fits perfectly with the blissful melodic ambience of this particular release. Both tracks tackle dub-techno with finesse and character, evoking galactic visions of vast glowing space. And to top it all of, it’s a gift from the artist, you can pick up this project at your chosen price via Bandcamp!
“These tracks were recorded early 2016, immediately after I finished The Infinity Room. They were originally going to be pressed on a limited 12″ white label, but due to various reasons, I never got around to releasing it. Some of you may have heard them in my recent mixlr broadcasts. They’re a lot more uptempo than my usual tracks and because they’re stylistically quite different to what I usually go for, they never quite found a place elsewhere. I like them a lot though and rather than see them go to waste, I’ve decided to upload them here as a digital download, exclusive to my Bandcamp page. Instinct, by Organit
Released October 6th, 2016, INSTINCT is a new 3-track project from Tamás Olejnikv moniker, Organit. What we find is deep and dark dub within, with flavors of old school dubstep and dub techno drizzled here and there. Condor is a great opening track, perfectly riding the line between calm melody and haunting dissonance. Tribe follows with a more brisk pace and staccato structure, evoking the feeling of running through a dense jungle in the pitch black night. The third and final track, Rite, is just as spooky as it is satisfying, with a brilliant bassline leading the ritual, the whole track swirls into an urgent yet relaxed composition.
