Somber atmospheric lo-fi from Tektra, brought to us by No Agreements as part of their Digital Series.
The tracks are tasteful and unique – claiming to have been produced entirely in one weekend, there is a cohesive energy that flows throughout the project. Despite touching all over the electronic music spectrum, Tektra manages to keep grip on the reins, taming the sounds to suit their needs.
Different Worlds is a new Various Artists compilation, put together and released by the UK’s Drift Deeper Recordings. Gathering an international roster of producers, Different Worlds does a magnificent job of highlighting the subtle differences in Deep-House style and interpretation from around the globe.
With a healthy 13 tracks, Different Worlds is a lovely long-player with a great energy. It has introduced me to a few deep-house producers I was unaware of, so I definitely encourage giving this one a listen! You can stream the whole thing via Bandcamp or purchase a digital copy from the label!
What better way to start both the Day and Week than with some truly satisfying deep tunage.
Etoka Records brings us this latest project from producer duo Mykja titled “Climate Change”. The album contains 7 tracks of focused dub-techno with a nice atmospheric quality (pun-intended). Mykja does a wonderful job mashing together distinct synths with percussion that is both relaxed yet filled with a sense of urgency.
The title is no happy accident either, as the duo describes – ‘Climate Change’ is formed to describe the relationship between man and nature, our impact on the environment that causes global change effect.
