Commercial Dreams Ltd brings us another project of lo-fi vapor sounds from procuder TANE IS LOVE. NET FORCE is a satisfying 10-track released in August, but tastes fresh as if it came right off the shelf! Lots of soft-vibes and emotions going in this one, with TANE more concerned about shaping the atmosphere than some other musical prowess. It’s a blast to sit through this one and let yourself drift away…

World Edit, by Nyetscape
Nyetscape is one of my favorite producers and a long-time friend, this time he brings us this twisted little tape World Edit. Its a 2-track project (or 2 mini-mixes, standard tape format). Lots of depth and room to swim around in here, with enough melodies and textures to satisfy the most picky listener. Highly recommended listen, goes great with a morning coffee!!
Sanguine, by aspect.
ARCHIVES has another pleasant release for us in the forms of Sanguine by aspect. This small release packs a great feeling into its 4 tracks (3 versions of the track Hk, as well as the title track, Sanguine). This is one solid EP, currently available via Bandcamp.
Favorite Track: 3. Hk. (Dub)
Written and Produced by Sage Taylor.
Mastering by Alexandre Lehmann (Zzzzra).

Optical Path by Yone B
Dewtone have some more goodies for us this month, this time from producer Yone B (Guillaume Couttenier) with his Optical Path EP. 4 tracks of soothing dub-techno that anyone familiar with Dewtone’s particular flavor will be able to appreciate. Both melodic and melancholy, filled with deep bass and shimmering percussion, Optical Path is a well rounded project with an attention to detail.

ROBOEMPIRE, by RØBØTAISEN
RØBØTAISEN has dropped the followup to one of my favorite albums of last year ROBOSAVIOR with ROBOEMPIRE! Building on the conceptual foundation laid in the previous ROBO-series entries, EMPIRE is an enlightening culmination of past efforts and future dreams. Full of awesome future-funk grooves, the project is full of interesting twists and turns laid on top of solid beats. I love this series and this entry is no exception, I will definitely be listening to this one countless times…
Favorite Track: 5. Endless Institute
Rising Dark EP, by TwichGarden
Rising Dark is the latest release from TwichGarden and Kopoc Label of Spain. Both deep and energetic, Rising Dark EP is a great dub project that experiments with all sorts of rhythms and tempos. Each track carries a unique sense of urgency, whether its the off-kilter percussion or the constant sub-bass, making the whole EP shrouded in a mysterious energy. I pretty much enjoyed each track as much as the next, though I feel like the latter half is the strongest in terms of ideas and execution. The final track, which is also the title track of the EP, is a wonderfully deep dub-techno cut which is equally unique and traditional. This one is highly recommended, and as always is available to download via Bandcamp!

ONNIE, by SEOUL
Here is a quick weird one from THE LAST FUNFAIR records, a vaporwave label from So-Cal. ONNIE is a project by producer SEOUL which is a heavy combination of mallsoft and vaporwave. Though quite melodic and at some times quite catchy, SEOUL does a great job washing the sounds into a sonic blur. It’s dense, at times abrasively so, but it definitely works towards its advantage. At a cool 4-tracks it is not overwhelming either, encouraging me to enjoy multiple play-throughs actually! You can stream/download the project now via bandcamp.

Lumine, by bansheebeat
Had this one recently recommended, Lumine by bansheebeat. Released by Galaxy Swim Team, Lumine is an ambitious melting pot, packed full of inspirations from all corners of the globe. It’s an impressive listen from start to finish, 9 tracks altogether, ranging from relaxed melodies to pulsing dance arrangements. There is a little something for everyone in here, as bansheebeat fuses future funk styles with j-pop emotions he creates something quite unique and satisfying!
I personally loved this album from start to finish. Maybe it is my own love of things like Japanese culture, vaporwave and good electronics, but for other fans of the same they will find this project to be a well-crafted and enlightened listen.
You can download the album now via bandcamp, the CD’s are sold out but you can still pick up a tape for now!
Favorite Track: 3. Rainy Love
All tracks composed, arranged, produced, and mixed by bansheebeat
All tracks mastered by Noah Hafford, with consultation from bansheebeat, Mike Vallejo, and Calvin Hansen
Everything recorded and sequenced in my bedroom while watching endless episodes of The Eric Andre Show and Parks and Recreation, in and around Mike and Joy’s apartment, and from other various places around Tucson, AZ where working on an album is probably inappropriate.
All songs written by bansheebeat, except track 2, composed by bansheebeat and Ivy Hollivana, and track 5, composed by bansheebeat and Patrick Sovereign

Geographics 2, by Cousin Silas
The Small Scottish Netlabel of weareallghosts brings us this truly beautiful work of relaxing ambience from Cousin Silas. Geographics 2 is a long-playing 9 track album focusing on soundscapes constructed from guitars and lush atmospheres. The overall tone of the album is both majestic and melancholy. Much like the album artwork suggests, it evokes feelings of misty mornings alone in the wilderness. The tasteful compositions don’t stray too far from traditional ambient styles, which is almost a breath of fresh air with so much weird genre-bending nowadays! For the most part this is an incredibly relaxing work of new age ambience, a highly recommended listen! You can grab the album from Bandcamp or Archive.
Favorite Track. 3 Through Lincolnshire (Spring 1969)
It was Geographics that got me into Cousin Silas’ music. That and his Ballard Landscapes, which were all on EMP. And it was EMP that got me into Silas by promoting his work. Blezard’s netlabel introduced me to the concept of netlabel and was a key inspiration for me to start weareallghosts.
It seems like we’ve come full circle with waag releasing Cousin Silas’ follow up all these years later.
And what a release it is: mellow, ambient guitar soundscapes. Nothing rushed or overwrought, just simple ambience … the kind that settles the mind.
Here’s to you, Cousin Silas … and to you, Shaun Blezard! Cheers to you both.
A 320kbps version of this release is available over on Archive (archive.org/details/we-are-all-ghosts) for free with a lossless version available on Bandcamp for ‘pay what you want’ which does include ‘free’. If you decide to download this album here for free, and you can with our best wishes, then all we ask is that you please tell people about it.
